GTA V Trailer Unleashed and Video Analysis
Well Rockstar Games have finally released the long awaited trailer for Grand Theft Auto V, and I must say, it looks stunning.
Video Analysis
The Character:
Our protagonist is still currently unknown, but we do know quite a bit more details from just looking at the trailer. The location is what the rumours were saying, it’s in modern Los Angeles, otherwise known to us through the Grand Theft Auto world as, Los Santos.
At first he’s not sure why he moved there, maybe was it because of the weather? Na, the reason being, the magic. He wanted to retire from that line of work, and be a good guy for once and be a family man, which gives us the impression that he was a bad person, like most projectionist’s in the GTA franchise.
Therefore he bought a big house for his family and all he wants to do is put his feet up, and be a proper dad, like the other dads. He wants his kids to be like those seen on TV, to sit in the sun and have it all.
Thats the last we hear from him then, and we just watch the city of Los Santos go by.
The Setting:
The location we know already which is the remodelled city of San Andreas, but all we see from the trailer is Los Santos, the Countryside and the mountain (looks like Mount-Chilliad from the original San Andreas, but we can’t be certain).
We also see a desert or like a mountain top with wind turbines. This could be the resemblance of the Mojave Desert, which in real life has two faults, in California: San Andreas and The Garlock. You can read more about the Mojave Desert here.
The Los Santos area, which will be the main setting for the game. The city looks huge just like in the original San Andreas (which no doubt everyone is happy about), buildings are under construction within the city, we can drive thru the docks where there is a loaded ship, homeless people gather under a bridge (well I assume their homeless), houses go up for sale, as we see a man hammering in a for sale sign in the front.
Prostitutes are still in the game, who seem to gather outside a liquor store. A homeless man holds a cardboard sign, asking for money.
Then we see a bit of police action. Cops chase after people in cars and on foot, at 1:06 I wonder if that’s Carl Johnson from the original running from the police?
We do see quite a bit of planes and helicopters flying around the city , can we fly them I wonder?
At the end of the video, we do see a plane fly across over the Vinewood sign coming from the Las Ventura’s direction, so may we see a taste of Vegas in the game? Were not sure yet.
Thanks for reading our first ever video analysis of Grand Theft Auto V. It’s a small write up but good things always start off small.
