GTA V to come out before March 2013 according to analyst

After an annual investor meeting for publisher Take-Two blamed the company’s low projected numbers for the year on the absence of Rockstar Games’ upcoming “Grand Theft Auto V”, it looked like the open-world crime title wouldn’t be released until after March of next year since that’s when the fiscal year ends.  That expectation has changed after the news that “Grand Theft Auto V” will be Game Informer’s cover story for their December issue,  leaving the gaming industry’s most well-known analyst to think that the latest GTA game may be coming out sooner than expected as he told NowGamer today.

Michael Patcher is the most quoted electronics analyst in the world.  His analysis of investment information of video games, digital media, and electronics is taken seriously by both fans and industry veterans in the field of video games because he has a reputation of being right.  So when Michael Patcher today said that he expected “Grand Theft Auto V” to release during the current fisacal year, gamers should actually listen.

Patcher points out that every past “Grand Theft Auto” title has released during the month of October except for GTA IV which was delayed for a number of reasons, therefore it was put back to April 2008.  It is his belief that Rockstar Games originally hoped for an October 2012 release for “GTA V” but missed the mark.  Now that they are preparing to finally release information of the game to the public, Michael Patcher is predicting the game to come out as early as December or, at the latest, before March 31 of next year.  The famous analyst went on to say the following.

“With GTA, I honestly think the Rockstar guys could bring it out before Christmas if they wanted to and they could announce next week that it’s coming out December 9, and then the Game Informer cover would get a lot of publicity, but my guess is that it’s coming out March. That’s probably an accurate release date and that gives them four full months to promote it.”
